Fruit?????

can dogs eat fruit like apples, grapes or what fruit can they eat

Fruit?????
Grapes and raisins are extremely bad for for dogs. They can cause kidney failure in dogs. As little as a single serving of raisins can kill a dog.

Apples are find as long you make the sure dog doesn't at any seeds. The seeds of these fruits contain cyanide, which is poisonous to dogs as well as humans. Unlike humans, dogs do not know to stop eating at the core/pit and easily ingest them.

I'm adding a link to foods that your dog should not eat since there are too many to list, and this way, you can print it out if you like and keep it on the fridge if you want :-)
Reply:I'ts true grapes and raisons can cause kidney failure in dogs, Chocolat can lso kill a dog if the dog eats it . My best friend's dog died of kidney failure because his dog got into a container of raisons while they were away. Report It

Reply:i think dogs can eat apples

i luv green apples Report It

Reply:it depends on the fruit. like some dogs likes grapes. and apples are too rough for them. just try the fruit to see if he or she will eat it.
Reply:My dog loves many different kinds of fruits and veggies, raw and cooked! They're good for humans and just as good for dogs!
Reply:Dogs eat cat turds. Helll yea they can eat fruit.
Reply:yes they can eat both fruit and vegetables. my dogs love them but here is a list our doc. told us they should not have. onions, grapes, raisins, chocolate, garlic.
Reply:it will be fruit dog
Reply:i feed my dog apples from time to time.it's the only fruit he eats.it contains vitamines...so that can't be bad can it?
Reply:i donno, but i have one that doesn't eat raw fish
Reply:DOGS WILL EAT ANYTHING. MY DOG EATS APPLES THAT FALL FROM AN APPLE TREE IN MY BACK YARD. SHE LOVES THEM. SHE HASN'T GOTTEN SICK FROM IT.
Reply:DEFINITELY!! my dog loves CANTALOUPE!! :)
Reply:Yes i feed my dogs fruit all the time it wont hurt them or anything but dont feed them prunes it gives them gas
Reply:yes they can,

im not sure if they would like it though.

if they're really hungry they'll eat anytihng though.

my dog once ate toilet paper
Reply:No you should not feed a dog human food period.
Reply:Yes they can! In fact fruits and vegetables are good for their health %26amp; also softens the stool. I feed mine with carrots %26amp; cabbage too! He loves it!
Reply:Any thing but grapes I guess, I feed my rottweilers carrots, and watermelon.
Reply:I've seen dogs eat fruit and vegtables and on occasion it is probably okay. However, it tends to give them a bad case of the squirts.
Reply:Yes dogs can eat fruit. My dog tries to eat grapes but they just seem to roll around in her mouth. I don't think she wants to bite them because of the juice. It's hilarious.
Reply:i would definately not feed any dog fruit, some fruits have a certain toxin/chemical that dogs bodies cannot handle!

NO GRAPES... this will cause congestive heart failure and kidney failure...

when you own a dog, you should not feed them people food (chicken, rice, cheese are fine in small portions) but stick to mainly dog food and treats... some foods can really harm their organs or digestive system... the smallest thing you have to worry about is diarrhea but the worst are listed above... if you have any questions on your dogs health, talk to your local vet and they will be able to help you more than some people on here... you never know if someone is making something up so never take that chance!!!

Talk to your vet...

have a good day and good luck...
Reply:You can, but all the sugar in fruits is not good for their tum-tum. A lot of fruits like pineapples, oranges, even grapes also have acid in them so I'd stay away from those too. I think apples would be okay in moderation.
Reply:Sure, my Rex loves slices of granny smith apples, not too much too often though. Some people say never give them people food, but what did dogs used to eat before there was dog food.........they used to eat left overs from our tables. People seem to forget that before all this fancy smancy specialty dog food came out dogs ate right from our hands. And yes, I know that this is better for them and dogs are living longer because of of the specialty dog food, all I'm saying is use your brain there wasn't always dog food
Reply:No grapes or raisins (causes kidney failure). Other than that they can eat all your normal fruit like apples, oranges, bananas, pears etc. I don't know about pineapple but I would say avoid it just in case.
Reply:Sure
Reply:A dog can eat raw fruit and veggies they will eat what they like but it doesn't do there bodies any harm actually it's better for them it does the same for them as it does for our bodies so feed away my dogs like Banana and grapes but don't feed them the pips or stones!
Reply:it depends on the dogs i know someone where there will eat any fruits that are sweet like strawberries, grapes and oranges but he won't eat any sour fruits like lemons or limes. So what i would try is put some fruit in font of him/she and see what he eats.
Reply:someone tolsd me gtrapes are bad, but to be honest I never looked it up.
Reply:Yes. Fruit is fine for dogs they need nutrients just like we do. Veggies are also good especially carrots. most dog food lacks betacarrotine.
Reply:no i dont think they are supposed to but they like cheese dont give them a lot
Reply:I've heard that onions and grapes are bad for dogs. But....my ding-a-ling doberman ate every peach that fell from the peach tree last summer! :-)
Reply:Some like fruit, some don't. It won't harm them in small quantities. Dogs create their own vitamin C, so it's not the end of the world if they don't like to eat it.
Reply:I feed my dog fruits and veggies - just not a lot of them. The are high in natural sugars. I had a dog once who had liver problems and had trouble processing protein. I had to supplement her diet with fruits and veggies, all approved by the vet. The only thing he warned me was, especially with carrots, the high sugar content and the possibility of diabetes in canines. Something to think about.
Reply:They can eat anything they enjoy. My last dog loved fruit but my present dog only likes veggies. Fruit and veggies round out their diet.
