What is the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil?

God set 2 trees in the garden of eden. One the tree of Life and the other the tree of knowledge of good and evil...

Gen 2:9 And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

Tree of Life...

Pro 3:13 ¶ Happy [is] the man [that] findeth wisdom, and the man [that] getteth understanding.

Pro 3:14 For the merchandise of it [is] better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold.

Pro 3:15 She [is] more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her.

Pro 3:16 Length of days [is] in her right hand; [and] in her left hand riches and honour.

Pro 3:17 Her ways [are] ways of pleasantness, and all her paths [are] peace.

Pro 3:18 She [is] a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy [is every one] that retaineth her.

***

Pro 11:30 The fruit of the righteous [is] a tree of life; and he that winneth souls [is] wise.

***

Pro 13:12 Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but [when] the desire cometh, [it is] a tree of life.

***

Pro 15:4 A wholesome tongue [is] a tree of life: but perverseness therein [is] a breach in the spirit.

***

Rev 2:7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

***

So they took and ate the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil...

Gen 3:6 And when the woman saw that the tree [was] good for food, and that it [was] pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make [one] wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

***

fruit (english) = pĕriy (hebrew)

1) fruit

a) fruit, produce (of the ground)

b) fruit, offspring, children, progeny (of the womb)

c) fruit (of actions) (fig.)

***

Good fruit...

Pro 10:16 The labour of the righteous [tendeth] to life: the fruit of the wicked to sin.

***

Pro 12:12 The wicked desireth the net of evil [men]: but the root of the righteous yieldeth [fruit].

***

Pro 13:2 A man shall eat good by the fruit of [his] mouth: but the soul of the transgressors [shall eat] violence.

***

Pro 18:21 Death and life [are] in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

***

Isa 3:10 Say ye to the righteous, that [it shall be] well [with him]: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.

My question is this... What actually was the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil?

What is the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil?
What was the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil in the garden?

Was it an apple?

Gen 2:9 And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the TREE of LIFE also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil. In the garden there was a tree of life.

Adam and Eve ate of the tree knowledge of good and evil it’s fruit the FRUIT of DEATH.

DEATH was its fruit along with all its pain and suffering.

There is a remedy for death. The remedy is found only in the Word of God

The bible tells us that Love is as strong as death. Songs 8:6 Set me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm: for LOVE is as STRONG as DEATH; JEALOUSY is CRUEL as the GRAVE: the coals thereof are coals of FIRE, which hath a most vehement FLAME.

Only the LOVE of GOD can over-power DEATH.

Exo 20:5 ………………for I the LORD thy God am a…. JEALOUS… GOD, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;

LOVE is why God manifested Himself in the flesh......as JESUS.

His Word literally became flesh and we beheld His glory as the only begotten son of God.

In the garden when they came for Jesus He stepped forward knowing all things that should befall Him beforehand and said I am he.

Jesus knew they would rip His beard off just like an animal that is skinned. Jesus knew they would drive the crown of thorns in His head. Jesus knew they would curse, mock and spit on him. Jesus knew He would be suspended between heaven and earth naked for all to see. Jesus knew He would know the pain and agony of death because Adam and Eve ate the fruit of death.

Only because of Jesus great love for us did He willingly lay down His life and allow His blood to be spilled. Now He has the keys to death, hell, and the grave.

Now all we have to do TO BE SAVED is OBEY Peter’s preaching.

Peter was the only one that Jesus gave the keys to the kingdom of heaven.

Mat 16:19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

On the day of Pentecost we find that Peter was the first disciple to preach after Jesus was ascended to heaven.

Why was he chosen that day to preach?

Because He had the KEYS.

Jesus told His disciples….to teach…. Mat 28:20 Teaching them to observe ALL THINGS whatsoever I have COMMANDED you………….

JESUS COMMAND was PETER'S COMMAND to us..

If you want to go to heaven and eat of the tree of life obey Peter's words found in Acts 2:38-39 so your sins will be remitted and receive the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues just like folks did in the bible.

Act 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, REPENT, and be BAPTIZED every one of you in the NAME of Jesus Christ for the REMISSION of SINS, and ye SHALL RECEIVE the GIFT of the Holy Ghost.

Act 2:39 For the PROMISE is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, EVEN AS MANY as the Lord our God shall call.

Act 2:40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, SAVE YOURSELFS from this untoward generation.

Act 2:41 Then they that GLADLY RECEIVED his word were BAPTIZED: and the same day there were ADDED unto them about three thousand souls.

Act 2:42 And they CONTINUED stedfastly in the apostles' DOCTRINE and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. (doctrine defined: TEACHINGS )

This is the Promise. This is the Comforter. This is the Love of God. This is the peace. This is the joy unspeakable and full of joy. This is the life and more abundant life Jesus came to give us.

Choose you today death or life.

Just as Adam and Eve had a choice to eat or not eat of the tree of knowledge you have a choice to eat of the tree of life and live.

You can choose not to repent but where is remission of sins then?

You can choose not to be Baptised in Jesus NAME...but where is remission of sins then?

You can choose not to receive the GIFT of the HOLY GHOST evidenced by speaking in tongues as the Spirt of God gives the utterance.

Then how else according to the bible can you receive it?

Jesus said: John 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

When we were born as a little baby we came out of our mother's womb covered with water and blood. Then God breath came in us and we lived.

When you repent and are baptized in water.... " again you are covered in water" ...in Jesus name ....." and then the BLOOD is applied." Then God has promised to give you LIFE the infilling and baptism of His Sprit.

This and only this is the born again experince. This and only this is the new birth.

Choose to live and not to die.
Reply:I don't think anybody knows... most people assume it is an apple but maybe God doesn't want us to know because if he didn't want Adam and Eve to eat it, he must not want us to either.
Reply:the light is the fruit of knowledge and goodness, and the darkness is the fruit of evil
Reply:Conscience.
Reply:Evil is illusion. It gives the appearance of being edible, but gives no sustenace. An example is how advertizers promote junk food. Another is microwaved food. If you give a young plant microwaved water, in 9 days it will be dead and shriveled up. If we exclusively eat microwaved food, we will do the same, but people don't want to believe that because they trust in the the EPA to research it for them.

So, listening to God will give you God's will, listening to any other source will keep you in illusion.
Reply:Well, sure, I mean 'the fruit' is not literally the apple, and knowing in consciousness that it is metaphorical or allegorical helps us to believe where the social iniquities leave their unsavory tension known as free will, or karma.

I think that the first principle of God's revelation to mankind was obviously shame. The shame of the body is a damning of our physical form, which is a temple or the ark of the One God, the Supreme Being, is the voice of the gift that speaks to us out of our likeness to Him or She.
Reply:In Judaism

"According to the Jewish tradition God commanded Adam and Eve not to eat from the tree that was to give free choice and allow them to earn, as opposed to receive, absolute perfection and intimate communion with God at a higher level than the one on which they were created. According to this tradition, Adam and Eve would have attained absolute perfection and retained divinity had they succeeded in withstanding the temptation to eat from the Tree. After failing at this task, they were condemned to a period of toil to rectify the fallen universe. Jewish tradition views the serpent, and sometimes the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil itself, as representatives of the struggles of man."

"Judaism generally recognizes no "evil" other than the evil actions of human beings. Eve's only transgression was that she disobeyed God's order. Adam and Eve were expelled from the Garden and had to live ordinary, human lives. Had they never eaten from the forbidden tree, they would never have discovered their capacity to act with free will."

"Rabbi David Fohrman of the Hoffberger Foundation for Torah Studies, citing Maimoniedes' Guide for the Perplexed, states that "the tree did not give us moral awareness when we had none before. Rather, it transformed this awareness from one kind into another." After eating from the Tree, humanity's innate sense of moral awareness was transformed from concepts of true and false to concepts of good and evil. Genesis describes the tree as desirable (3:5), and our concepts of good and evil, unlike our concepts of true and false, also have an implicit measure of desire."

"In Christian theology, the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil is connected to the doctrine of original sin. Augustine of Hippo believed that humanity inherited sin itself and the guilt for Adam and Eve's sin.[2] By eating of the fruit of the Tree, Adam and Eve sought to be like God. For a debate about the Western doctrine of original sin and the Eastern doctrine of ancestral sin, see [3] There is a minority of Christians that affirm the doctrine of Pelagianism, which believes every individual faces the same choice between sin and salvation that Adam and Eve faced."
