Fruit fly infestation on FAKE fruit?

Why are fruit flies attracted to my fake fruit arrangement. They live off of alcohol from fermenating fruits and veggies. They are swarming around my fake arrangement. Why? I know how to get rid of them but is it possible they are attracted to certain "bright" colors too?? Thx

It should just be a coincidence that they are around your fake arrangement. Usually they are attracted by the smell. There is probably something close to it that is attracting them and then once they get close enough to see the fake fruit they are zoning in on that.





You could use some fly tape to get rid of them. Its usually sold around other pest control products like mouse traps. It contains a scent that attracts the flies to it where they get stuck.
