Fruit/vegetables and acne?

I have suffered with acne since i was 12. I am 18 now. I on't really know what else to do with my skin because i do everything possible; i have been to the doctors, taken meds, take vitamins, eat sensibly, drink lots of water, wash my face twice a day, have no makeup days when i let my skin breathe, i dont touch my skin etc etc

But recently i have gone on a healthy eating "diet", and i am starting to eat a lot more fruit and vegetables!

Are fruits and veggies really good for combatting acne?

Can eating a lot of fruit/veg make a different to your skin?

Eat plenty of fresh fruits, vegetables, and salads. The vitamins contained in these foods can have a significant beneficial effect on acne. The fiber is essential for healthy digestion and elimination. Foods high in vitamin A and beta-carotene are especially good nutritional sources (carrots, sweet potatoes, apricots, and green leafy vegetables, spinach, kale, and romaine lettuce).

Reply:Yes it helps. Eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables. All acne home remedies should include a healthy diet. Avoid eating chocolates, fried food and refined sugar. Check out http://totalskincare-s.blogspot.com/ for more useful info.
Reply:Well, I have heard that a healthy diet with lots of water is good. No alcoholic drinks or kebab like food. lol.

Also, some say that you shouldn't clean your face too much as this could have an opposite affect to what you're looking for.

Sorry its not more precise, but you look fine anyways.

Reply:The debate about the effect of diet on acne is ongoing. I have a topical prescription for my acne but I have to limit my intake of eggs, citrus fruits (pineapples are a particular problem), raw tomatoes, sweeteners, which excludes most junk food %26amp; booze and I have to be careful taking Vitamin C and D supplements - it was only when I was on an oral prescription I could eat any of these foods but even then I had to be careful not to overdo it.
Reply:im not sure whether ther is a link but it will be doing you good so id say stay at it and see what tjhe results are. =D
