The Fruit-Seller In Mars.......Will You Come and Buy Fruits?

The Fruit-Seller in Mars

I sell, I sell fresh fruits on Mars

As fresh as you can see,

O come and buy three pine-apples

And get one orange free

O come and buy three oranges

And get a plum to taste,

The offers close within an hour

You have no time to waste!

And there are cherries black and red

And berries that are best,

And still more different fruits I say,

All imported from west

A thousand juicy mangoes ripe

I have for you in store,

For dollar one, oh you shall get

Ten pomes; yet more and more!

So take an apple for your Love,

An orange for your child,

A pear for husband big and fat,

Full drunk and dancing wild

O come my friends, O come and buy

Sweet apples, grapes and all:

I pluck, I pluck them all for you

From trees, too short and tall.......

so how is the poem? please give your comments....and take some fruits if you wish...

Save me some, I'm taking the train.
Reply:Interesting that the second and fourth lines rhyme only. It needs to be longer so it tells more of story, but I guess this length is okay.
Reply:It's delicious. I believe you should add "the" to the verse "all imported from west." We won't have this fruit on Mars until we get the place terraformed, but it's good to dream.
Reply:Great poem, I'll take a bushel of everything.
Reply:Digging in my purse...hope I've enough to buy!
Reply:I like the poem Silver, it is happy.

Reply:I like it - but I don't understand it. Is it something to do with TD's thingy?

imported from THE west (?)

What are pomes? is that pomegranates, or mishappen poems? =)

The whole poem tastes as sweet as a freshly prepared fruit salad, and it slides down the throat like a smoothie.

Thanks
Reply:I love the poem so much, Silver. I am ready to buy up all your fruit. I love the rhythm and flow and drumbeat of your poem. It's fun and jolly and made me smile. It has a lot of imagination. You are super fantastic! I am your fan big time! Keep those poems coming!
