Fruit & vegetable diet?

What do you think about a fruit and vegetable diet? How long should it be for? What fruits n veggies do you recommend? Will you get all of the nutrients you need with this diet and regular vitamins? How much weight will you lose? Thanks!

Fruit %26amp; vegetable diet?
You might lose weight, but you will not be getting the nutrition you need. You will be missing out on your proteins and other essential nutrients. You might also be hungry alot or mess up your bowels (ie diarrhea or constipation). Talk to a dietitian or a doctor. Maybe they can help you set up a fruit and veggie diet with some dietary supplements.
Reply:I don't agree with the Best Answer .Vegetarian diet is very good for health.Everything that is eaten in balance will never harm. If you eat pulses ,soya and nuts you get same protein what you get my eating meat. And people who are vegeterian are less prone to heart disease and obesity. Report It

Reply:If your worried about lacking in protien eat some nuts. They are filled with protien. You dont need to eat red meat everyday, once a week is good. Eat more fish (Omega3) and replace your soda with some water. But the diet is a good detoxifier. Report It

Reply:I've been on a 60% produce diet for 12 years

Protein is overrated. When you get 1500 calories, you got enough.

"fructose is sugar"

That's brainwashing. benefits doctors.

SUGAR is MADE by refining(refining makes anything unhealthy). Report It

Reply:You probably won;t be losing weight but gaining weight. You should try a balance diet with 50% carbs which is friuts and vetetable diet and 50% protein. With out the protein, you will be hungry within an hour and you will eat more and be hungry in an hour.
Reply:I love fruits %26amp; veggies and could live w/o meat, but it is really

important to get enough protein in your diet. I eat a lot of

cottage cheese %26amp; yogurt etc, but sometimes think I am

not getting all of the nutrients that I need.

Green leafy veggies are important, yellow and orange too.

Just get a good varity, and good luck.
Reply:I think more fruits and veggies are good, but I've also heard that we need a certain amount of fats and carbs. Just not supposed to overdo it. I don't think all your dietary needs can be met on fruit and veggies alone. A variety is better as far as which ones to eat. For salads, the darker (like romaine) lettuce is good for you, whereas the iceberg has no nutritional value. The darker lettuce has vitamins and stuff in it that's better for you. You should eat all of the different colors of both fruits and veggies. They all offer different nutrients.
Reply:This is not good. You must limit the number of fruits you eat, fructose is sugar. What about protein and dairy?
Reply:you've got to be really careful with this one. stay on it for no more than a week. it will "clean" you out thouroughly. make sure you eat some beans for protein and i would still eat a yogurt a day to replace some of the good baterias that your body's going to lose. You need those to function properly.
