Fruit sugars?

im trying to gain wieght and need to have 500 extra calories each day and was wondering if i should eat fruit or cereal?

if i eat 500 calories of fruit each day will i gain fat, because all the sugars?

Fruit sugars?
fruit (usually) spends more calories than your taking in. Some fruits are an exception: bananas, avocados, etc.

I'd suggest eating cereal with some fruit. Not just one or the other. That's too exclusive and the more variety in your diet, the better the absorption of nutrients and amino acids.

A good idea is to add peanut butter into your diet. Maybe a whole grain bagel with 1 serving of peanut butter and a green apple with another serving of peanut butter.

This way your weight gain is made at a more healthy pace.

Good luck!!
Reply:Eat them both. Cereal is more efficient at putting on weight because it is generally higher in carbohydrates. I wouldn't give up fruit to do it though. Excess calories will often turn to fat. That is generally where the extra weight goes. If you want to gain muscle you need to lift weights. It can be hard to gain muscle for some people but that is the only way to gain weight besides fat. The amount of weight from the carbohydrates in your body is limited and will not go up much beyond that which is normal.
Reply:I'm trying to lose weight too and it's sooo hard. My aunt is using a weight loss product and it's really working for her. I'm gonna try it and I recommend you try it too. Check their website at

http://www.thin-get.info , my aunt got a free trial and paid only 5.49$ shipping and handling.
Reply:It's not the simple (high glycemic) crabs that are found in processed sugars. It's absorbed much more slowly, and the fruit also has a lot of antioxidant and fiber. Much of the cereal you Can buy has added processed sugar, little fiber, and no cancer-fighting antioxidants.
Reply:You want to gain weight but afraid a little extra fruit is going to make you fat? Workout and eat plenty of lean meat. Protein from chicken, turkey and even peanut butter. Your muscles need fed. This will help pack on muscle gaining weight in the right places.
Reply:to gain weights with fruit your gonna need lotssss of them, and yes cereal can make you gain weight so load up with healthy cereals and soy milk..for healthy foods with high calories and heart healthy fats add some nuts, seeds and dried fruit(like raisins, etc), and fruits to your cereal. good luck xoxoxo
Reply:It doesn't matter where the extra calories come from as far as your body is concerned. Extra calories that are not used are all stored as fat. Whether the extra comes from fruit or cereal is not important. Although nutritionally speaking, you need to consider if you are meeting the minimum recommended number of servings. If you've already had 3 fruits that day, then you should choose the cereal, since you need more grain servings than fruit. That's about the only thing you have to consider. In order to gain muscle weight, you have to work out to build more muscle tissue. Otherwise, extra calories mean fat.
