Has anyone heard of fruit salad made with tropical fruit....?

Have any of you ever heard of or eaten fruit salad made with coconut marshmallow and tropical fruit? If so how do you like it? And if not, how do you prepare your fruit salad? Or is this method of preparing it, only a hispanic tradition?

Has anyone heard of fruit salad made with tropical fruit....?
yes, it is very good. Get a can of tropical fruit, add some cool whip, mini marshmallow, and coconut flakes, chill over night and serve, you can also toss in a few marachino cherries too.
Reply:Yes its great , would love to have some right now!!
Reply:I have heard of it adding marshino cherries and pineapples.
Reply:I've had something like this before. My family called it "ambrosia", and usually made it with canned mandarin oranges, coconut, marshmallow, pineapple and either sour cream or whipped topping.

I'll admit however, that the best "ambrosia" I had was as a side dish in Mexico this spring. Still not sure exactly what all the fruits were in the salad, but it was fantastic!
Reply:I have had Ambrosia, but my favorite way to eat fruit salad is made with Almond Jello. SO GOOD! All you need is canned fruit salad, Maraschino cherries, and a packet of this stuff:

It is so tasty and easy to prepare. The instructions right on the packet. You can find it at any grocery store in the imported/ethnic foods section.
Reply:dole has a version out with pineaplle, mango and papaya.

the marshmallow version i know is ambrosia but wasn't originally tropical but can be i guess.
Reply:I've eaten tropical fruit salad in Cuba...but no marshmallows. Sound really delish though!
