Where can I find star fruit?!?

I once saw the strange little fruit in a Weis market. I later read that they are sweat, and I have a terrible time finding fruit I actually like (I love anything fruit flavored, but not the fruit themselves! I suppose it's the texture). I went back to the market, but they said they stopped selling them. are they out of season? Nobody else seems to carry them, and I want to try them so badly!

If you have a good Asian market near you they might have them when they are in season. The only time it is decent to eat is when it is yellow with brown at the tips of the "stars". There are far better fruits to try at these markets. Grab some and test them out. I have found that guavas and Jackfruit are really good. Experiment and go a bit out of your comfort zone and you might just find some great stuff.

Reply:If you are near one, try Meijer. They aren't especially exciting, but they look cool. There are too many other distinctive fruits that i like that are better to spend my money on.

As for finding them, any good produce department would have them, when they're in season, that is.
