Is fruit hurting my diet?

I want to drop a few more pounds before I will be satisfied with my weight, and alot of my diet consists of fruit. However, depite fruit being very healthy and essential, I'm worried that all the sugar in them is actually wounding my diet. Among the many fruit I eat a day, I have two small apples. I know apples have alot of sugar in them, so do you think that it's doing me more harm than good?

You're doing more harm than good. Sugar in fruit is different from sugar in corn syrup. You need 7 to 9 servings of fruits and vegetables so I highly doubt that you are harming yourself. Just make sure you are eating raw fruit and not canned fruit in syrup. As for apples, they are high in fiber which helps your digestive system and they make you feel full longer. As a added bonus apples have pectin which helps you lose weight particularly belly fat. So go ahead and enjoy your fruits.
Reply:I agree that portion control is an essential part of any balanced diet. However, I firmly believe that if you are eating fruit to compensate for carbohydrates in your diet and not drinking soda and consuming alcohol in moderation, you *should be ok. Fruits contain some of the simplest sugars and are easily processed and used by your body. Foods that are spicy or even plain ground black pepper is good for your metabolism as well since the heat causes your body to regulate its temperature. Plain black coffee is also extremely effective in raising metabolism. As long as your fruits and vegetables are not overly processed or cooked, they retain most of their nutritional value..... braised endive or over cooked asparagus in butter are examples of vegtables that although fit into the food pyramid, lack nutritional value. Reply:it isn't. i thried that and it didn't work for me when i consulted a doctor he said pretty much i need more protien
Reply:To much of anything is bad for you. Portion control is important. You need, Dairy,vegetables,Carbohydrates,protein and fruit. If you are eating mainly just fruit I can not imagine it be that health for you. To much sugar can be like poison to your body.
