Fruit flies?

does anyone know how to get rid of fruit flies with out getting rid of the fruit.....fruit bowl in center of table

Fruit flies?
i have had a problem with fruit flies lately and someone gave me a suggestion on how to remedy the situation that works.......pour some apple cider vinegar into a cup or some kind of small container, cover it with saran wrap or foil or something and poke holes in it...with a toothpick or something like that....large enough so they can get inside....i guess it attracts them....they get in there and cant get out....it definitely helps....it didnt get rid of all of them but made a significant differerence......hope this helps
Reply:make sure there isn' any bruised fruit.
Reply:Alas!- HERE's the problem with THIS; It turn out- Fruit Flies lay their very sticky %26amp; tiny little eggs- on the Fruit out in the Fields. Those fruit get harvested, washed (to NO affect- as far as getting rid of the eggs), %26amp; sold to US- who bring them into our nice warm homes. Now as LONG as that fruit STAYS refrigerated- those tiny eggs- will never hatch. But if you place that Fruit in a bowl on your Dining Room table at a nice, constant 72 degrees- let's say, those little eggs will hatch out VERY quickly- %26amp; the NEXT thing you know, you've fruit flies ALL over the place..! :( My ONLY solution to this problem, is that you buy some "fake fruit" for the table, %26amp; keep the REAL stuff- in the fridge. It may seem alittle "tacky", but people will think even WORSE things about your house- if they see fruit flies flying around all over the place! :(
Reply:Not sure but my grandpa uses a cup of beer.
Reply:wash your fruit daily. Also if you can set in frig when you don't need it on the table.
Reply:a dish with apple juice and a little bit of soap.
