Fruit Juices?

For the past week and a half all i have been drinking is pure fruit juices... Mostly orange but also a apple and sometimes exotic... My question is, is it healthy? I mean obviously fruit is healthy but always drinking fruit juices is this good?





I'm hoping yes!

Hi, I thought this was a great question! So, I did a little research...


Below in the link they talk about acid in fruit...this is what concerns me about fruit juice that and sugar and also there is no fiber.


The acid in pure fruit juice is bad for your teeth and so is the sugar but the acid is the worst here. The acid is also not so good in large amounts for the lining of your stomach.


Fruit juice will supply with vitamins and some minerals but once you have reached what you need - there is no store - your body will flush it out.


Anything that you consume that causes your liver to work to process and get the water and vitamin content out - is taxing to your liver.


So yes, the water and the vitamins in the juice are good but thats all that your body wants - the water and the vitamins..your body has to handle the acid and sugar just to get the water and vitamin with no fibre in which to process it.

Also, fruit juice is a carb and so has calories and is processed as a carb - you can gain weight here too!


Also, as a carb it adds to your blood sugar level so, if your diet is rich in carbs - thats putting you at risk of Diabetes over time...


Interesting question thanks! Hope my answer isnt too negative for you? - personally no, I dont drink fruit juice only rarely for the reasons above..

Reply:As long as you drink a good amount of water along with it. (Nothing can really replaces the need for water)

Reply:Drinking too much fresh juice may be good for you in the short term but not in the long ............ Fresh juice only counts as 1 of your 5 a day requirement regardless of how many glasses you drink and after a while you just give yourself diahorrea ........... water is better as a bulk fluid .........
Reply:You'll gain weight from all those calories, unless you haven't been eating anything and then it's not healthy long term but it's ok for a cleanse.
