Fruit flies?

Ok so heres the deal i had went to the fruit stand on the side of the road and brought everything home and sat it on the counter... Well a week later my house in infested with fruit flys, BAD... What can i get to get ride of them? Someone mentioned to bomb the house but if i do that i have to make sure nobodys home for 2 hrs, and thats kind of hard when we have a handicap person home 24/7... So any other recomendations taht will kill these annoying fruit flys ?

A basil plant and or lavender oil repels them, You should also keep what atrracts them covered. They die out theselves. Don't leave wine spills or open bottles of wine cause the smell atrracts them.
Reply:It's easier than you think. I have seen this question before and the fruit flies have been bad this year.


All you need to do is get rid of what is attracting them and they will disappear- really!


put the fruit in the fridge and clean the counter and container you had the fruit in. empty your garbage regularly and they will be gone as fast as they came.

Reply:Put two ounces of cider vinegar in a small juice glass or baby food jar add two drops of liquid dish washing soap and leave this set out for several days, refresh as needed....after a couple of days look thru the bottom of the glass, you won't believe how many of the fruit flies and in the bottom of the glass......this does work because I use it every year....I usually set out several glasses of this in different rooms of the house.
